To provide better internet services on mobile devices, Opera has signed with local mobile OEM’s to give the Opera Mini mobile web browser pre-installed on their handsets.
According to the agreement that Opera Software has signed up with seven Indian mobile OEM’s, the Opera Mini will be the exclusive third-party browser to be preinstalled on all upcoming handsets, phablets and tablets based on the Android mobile OS from these manufacturers.
The seven mobile OEM’s with which Opera has signed an agreement are Celkon, Karbonn, Lava, Intex, Fly, Zen and even HCL. While most of the companies will have opera Mini preinstalled on all devices, HCL will feature the browser only on its ME tablets.
Considering the Indian mobile networks, Opera Mini is recommended due to its data compression technology which uses a server to pre-process and compress websites to as little as 10% of their original size before sending them to the mobile device, thus giving a remarkably faster and more cost effective browsing experience.
