After successfully partnering with Opera to install the Opera Mini browser on their handsets, Micromax has now decided to extend the partnership.
Micromax and Opera Software have officially announced that they have mutually extended the time frame of their partnership to preinstall Opera Mini as an exclusive third-party mobile web browser on all Android devices launched by Micromax. Over the last year, Micromax preinstalled the Opera Mini browser on over 50 models of Android smartphones and tablets, which are available in India, Russia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
The Opera Mini web browser gained popularity due to the social web experience at faster speeds. The browser is equipped with features like Smart Page notifications, Speed Dial website shortcuts, download manager, password manager, visual tabs, saved webpages for offline viewing and a share feature. The browser compresses webpages to as little as 10% of their original to reduce the load time.
Speaking about the partnership, a Micromax spokesperson said, “Smartphones have paved the way for a more connected world, with internet being one of the game-changers in the handset industry. At Micromax, we have always strived to democratize technology for the masses through our innovative product portfolio, service offerings and smart partnerships. Through this collaboration with Opera Software, we are empowering our users with a seamless and faster web browsing experience, giving them an unmatched user interface on their smartphones.”
