OnePlus launched the OnePlus 5T in November last year. The phone initially came in Midnight Black color in all the regions. However, the company later launched the Lava Red variant of the OnePlus 5T in China later same month, and last month, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant was launched in India as well. And now, OnePlus has launched this 5T Lava Red variant for global markets.
The OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant has been launched in Europe and the U.S. As the name suggests, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant comes with a coat of red paint at the back. Even the fingerprint scanner is covered with red color to make the phone look more appealing.
However, the front of the phone is black in color and is covered with Gorilla Glass for protection against scratches. That said, apart from the difference in color, the design of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant is exactly the same as that of the regular 5T.
Moreover, the hardware underneath the OnePlus 5T Lava Red is also exactly the same as that of the other variants of the 5T. However, unlike the Midnight Black variant which comes in both 6 GB and 8 GB RAM configurations, the Lava Red variant only comes in 8 GB RAM option.
With that being said, OnePlus brings the Lava Red variant of the 5T to global markets just before Valentine’s Day. After all, a red colored OnePlus 5T would turn out to be a great gift for your Valentine.
Speaking about the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant, OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei said, “An AF layer is applied to the body of Lava Red to enhance the luster of the color, while limiting the noticeability of fingerprints on the metal. Twice anodized, and double sandblasted, the Lava Red color feels like a natural part of the metal and highlights rather than obscures the OnePlus 5T’s design ID. Well, with the launch of OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant in global markets, customers now have three options of the 5T to choose from – OnePlus 5T in Midnight Black, OnePlus 5T Sandstone White Limited Edition, and, the OnePlus 5T in Lava Red. In India, the apart from the Midnight Black and Lava Red variants, OnePlus also sells the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition, which is actually a Sandstone White variant with Star Wars logo at the back.
That said, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red is a limited edition and will be available in limited quantities, hence, if you are planning to buy one, you might have to hurry up.
