After so much of leaks and rumors, the much awaited OnePlus 5 was announced two days ago. The OnePlus 5 is successor to last year’s OnePlus 3T and comes with really powerful hardware under the hood. Well, this OnePlus flagship has been launched today in India at an event held in Mumbai.
The OnePlus 5 sports a uni-body metal design and is 7.25 mm thin which makes it the thinnest OnePlus flagship to date. It’s powered by the latest and greatest Snapdragon 835 SoC and comes in 6 GB and 8 GB RAM configuration. The 6 GB RAM variant comes with 64 GB of internal storage whereas the 8 GB RAM variant has 128 GB of storage on board. Of course, there’s no microSD card slot for storage expansion, but we think that this much amount of storage should be enough unless you carry tons of photos, music and videos along with you.
At the left side of the OnePlus 5 is the Alert Slider and volume rocker and to the right is the power button. At the front is the 5.5-inch Full-HD Optic AMOLED display along with fingerprint scanner, and, to the back is the dual camera setup. After looking at OnePlus 5’s back, some of you might say that it looks like iPhone 7 Plus, however, it looks like OPPO’s R11 which is OnePlus’s parent company.
Having said that, the biggest highlight of the OnePlus 5 is its dual camera setup which consists of a combination of a 16 MP primary camera and a 20 MP secondary camera. The 16 MP primary camera comes with a larger f/1.7 aperture whereas the secondary camera comes with f/2.6 aperture. The camera setup also consists of a telephoto lens which lets you optically zoom in on distant objects to take photos without any significant loss in details. Besides, you also have Portrait Mode which blurs the background in a photo to give bokeh effect.
