The unveiling of the OnePlus 5 is still more than 10 days away, however, the phone doesn’t stop making headlines every day. Two days ago, we told you that the OnePlus 5 would go on sale in India from June 22 exclusively through Amazon. We also told you that the OnePlus 5 would come with 8 GB RAM under the hood in India. Well, an 8 GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 5 has popped up on a benchmarking website confirming its existence.
The OnePlus 5 has appeared on Geekbench with model number OnePlus A5000. It is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC which is laced with 8 GB RAM. The tested unit runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and the SoC has been clocked at 1.90 GHz. Well, we hope this won’t be the actual clock speed at the time of launch.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 5 scored 1917 and 6562 points in Geekbench’s single and multi-core test respectively. The OnePlus 5 is already officially confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC and have dual camera setup at the back, however, there have been multiple opinions about the amount of RAM on this flagship.
Having said that, this Geekbench listing confirms that the OnePlus 5 will indeed come with 8 GB RAM. The same was revealed by the source code of Amazon India’s landing page for the OnePlus 5.
