After Reliance Jio commercially launched its 4G services earlier this month, more and more people started searching about 4G and VoLTE. Apart from the telecom operators, smartphone manufacturers too seem to have taken note of Reliance Jio. While most of the smartphones nowadays come with 4G support, not all of them support VoLTE (Voice over LTE). However, OnePlus has now announced that it will bring VoLTE support for OnePlus 2 by rolling out an OTA update.
The OnePlus 2 is a 4G smartphone, however, at this moment, it doesn’t support VoLTE. With VoLTE, users can make crystal clear calls as compared to 2G or 3G. However, that’s not the only advantage of having VoLTE enabled smartphone. You can head on to this link if you want to know more about VoLTE.
OnePlus will roll out an OTA update for OnePlus 2 in the next quarter to make the device VoLTE enabled, but, the company hasn’t given any date as to when the roll out will begin. If you are lucky enough, the update might be rolled out next month, else you may have to wait till December.
Also, those who are using OnePlus One or OnePlus X shouldn’t get their hopes too high as they will have to rely on Jio4GVoice app to experience enhanced call quality through Jio’s network.
