Google released the Android N Developer Preview in March this year which gave us an idea of what to expect from the next iteration of Android OS. Apart from discussing everything about Android N, what’s also equally discussed is the official name of Android N.
There have been lots of suggestions for the official name of Android N like Nutella, Nougat, etc. Keep in mind that Google only keeps the name of its Android OS after some sweet foods. The names given by Google to Android so far are Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop and Marshmallow. Also, Google always goes alphabetically.
Another name for Android N that is making rounds on the Internet is Neyyappam which is a South Indian dessert. However, all these speculations will soon come to an end as Google has announced that it will soon be revealing the official name of Android N.
Google shared this news by tweeting through the official account of Android. It tweeted “Thanks for your submissions. We’ll reveal the new name in a few weeks! #NameAndroidN“. Indian Android fans and users have been waiting for Google to name a version of Android OS after an Indian dessert. We hope Google will end their wait with Android N.
