We have already heard about Apple planning to launch its so called “iPad Mini” on October 23 through AllThingsD.
And today sources of Reuters are suggesting that the October 23 launch of a probably cheaper and smaller version of the iPad is a go!
If Apple does launch a smaller version of the iPad, it will directly take on the Google’s 7-inch tablet Nexus 7 and Amazon’s Kindle Fire, both of which retail at $199. It is not confirmed as to what price tag the iPad Mini will be launched but previous rumours have suggested that the 7.85-inch tablet will arrive for $200-$250, though we cannot confirm the same.
The iPad Mini, dummies of which have leaked several times is said to arrive with a 7.85-inch screen minus the Retina display, Wi-Fi only connectivity, anodized aluminium back, and looks which are said to be better than the new iPad and the new Lightning port.
If the October 23 launch is true, then we are just days away from the official announcement and it will be interesting to see how the miniature of the iPad fares in the market.
