Nokia has finally got an FCC approval for a RM-680 device which was leaked way back in 2010. It is rumoured to be the N9/N950 and it should be the MeeGo device that Nokia promised.
The device is going to see the world soon as pictures, the user manual and related documents of the device are kept as confidential; however the period expires on June 24th. Meaning after the 24th of June, the details of the device will be no longer on FCC’s website and will be open to the world unless Nokia announce the device before that date.
The device was tested for 850/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE bands with a note that outside the US the device can also use the 900/1800 bands. The 3G bands tested were 850/1700/1900/2100, again with a note that the 900MHz band is also available outside the US. Wi-Fi b/g/n (2.4GHz band) and Bluetooth were also tested.
The device is said to be a developer phone and not actually a mass market device, so there are chances that the device will be given out to developers for testing purposes.
