Nokia Public Transport app has been a nice product from the Finnish giant which helps users to Search for public transport stations/stops, addresses and POIs, Choose from multiple routes and follow the list of directions for buses, trams, underground or trains, Get earlier/later journeys, See on the map how to walk to/from your station and more.
Nokia has over its Nokia Beta Labs updated the Nokia Public Transport to version 2.0.3 with a few new features and improving the app. The best part of the version 2.0.3 is that the app now goes on to support older Symbian S60 5th (Symbian^1) devices. Until now it was only available for Symbian^3 and above devices.
Releasing the app on the older devices is indeed a nice move by Nokia as it would help its older consumers to love their dying devices a little more and enjoy something new.
In Nokia Public Transport 2.0.3:
- Line information: all the intermediate stops in your journey.
- Journey details with visual improvements: specific brand icons, colours and more.
- New Stations Nearby with renewed Departures.
- Walking navigation with the help of Nokia Maps, walk from and to a transport station.
- Coverage flow at the first time usage. This flow will help the user to understand what type of coverage is supported in the user’s detected location.
- App is localised: the app is now localised in about 50 languages.
Besides, the app is now supported in many different cities around the globe. With accurate timing information: Atlanta, Auckland, Austin, Baltimore, Barcelona, Berkshire, Berlin & Brandenburg, Boston, Budapest, Chicago, Dallas, Denmark, Denver, Edmonton, Flanders, Halifax, Helsinki, Honolulu, Houston, Las Vegas, London, Miami-Dade county, Minneapolis & Saint Paul, New York City, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles, Toronto, Turin, Wellington and Winnipeg.
The app is available for download over the Nokia Beta Labs for both, Symbian^1 and Symbian^3 devices.
