The Nokia Lumia Icon smartphone is finally here. This smartphone comes with awesome specs, such as a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 20-megapixel PureView camera.
The Nokia Lumia Icon is a smaller, juicier version of the Nokia 1520 smartphone. It has a 5-inch Full HD OLED ClearBlack display and runs Windows Phone 8 OS. But besides its impressive specs, the main focus of this smartphone is the camera, especially videos – the Nokia Lumia Icon possesses the same camera as the Nokia Lumia 1520. It comes with a six-element f/2.4 Carl Zeiss lens along with dual-LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization. While the rear camera can shoot full HD video, the front snapper can shoot 720p video. The phone is equipped with three Microphones, out of which two at the back come in use during video recording.
The microphones at the back capture audio easily and can even filter noise since they are focused towards audio capture during the video. All you have to do to zoom in on this phone is run your finger up to down to zoom in and out. This makes for easier focus than pinch to zoom.
The display has the same resolution as the Nokia Lumia 1520, but since it is an inch shorter, it would have better screen resolution and therefore believe it will have an even better boost of colors than the Lumia 1520. This one will also have a high sunlight visibility because 441 ppi display density. Along with this, it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for better durability.
However, that is hardly all. This is, by all standards, a premium smartphone and stands out with its form factor. It is made from a single block of Aluminum, lending sophistication and pizzazz to the device. It has a matt finish around the edges, while the rear panel is polycarbonate. The glass is curved at the edges for a smooth handling and bezels have been kept to a minimum.
At 166g, the smartphone is not too heavy neither too light, but this 5-inch device, from the looks of it, would be a beauty to hold. As far as the innards of the smartphone go, this one has 2 GB RAM on board and 32 GB inbuilt storage.
The 2420 mAh battery though, given its specs, might be a cause of concern for the Nokia Lumia Icon. But, Windows Phone smartphones tend to have better battery life than others so , we hope it matches up.
All together, the Nokia Lumia Icon offers the goodness of a premium smartphone in an erudite 5-inch frame. It will be pretty exciting to look at and use. It has currently been launched for Verizon just in the US, but we expect this baby to hit the global market soon, fingers crossed!
