We have already seen the Lumia 530 in leaked pictures and today, we get to know the specifications of the upcoming smartphone, thanks to a Vietnamese retailer.
As the name suggests, the Lumia 530 is the successor to the immensely popular Lumia 520 and 525. The specs however are disappointing on paper. The listing on the Vietnamese retailer suggests the affordable smartphone will feature a 4-inch FWVGA (854x480p) display. It is said to be powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and here’s the disappointing bit, there’s 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. There’s said to be microSD expansion up to 128 GB.
The device is also listed to feature a 5 MP fixed focus camera and a 1430 mAh battery. The device is said to be coming with Windows Phone 8.1 on-board and dual SIM connectivity. The handset’s dimensions are also listed – 119.7 x 62.3 x 11.7 mm, which makes it a lot thicker than the 9.9 mm thick Lumia 520/525.
The specs, especially the RAM and the internal storage are surely disappointing considering it’s supposed to be the successor to the Lumia 525, which features 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It seems as if Microsoft isn’t willing to take on the competition, which features the likes of Moto E, G and the recently launched Xiaomi smartphones.
Anyways, we don’t know the price or availability of the Lumia 530 but considering the leaks, we can expect it to go official soon.
