Both the devices have the Symbian platform with new icons, a smoother and faster UI and a new and improved browser. The spec sheet says that the new Symbian OS is called Symbian Anna. This is an updated version of the S^3 platform which is standard in the two devices. This will also be a standard OS in the newly shipped S^3 phones namely the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 devices, as well as available to download on previously purchased models of those same smart phones.
“We are further strengthening Nokia’s smart phone portfolio with these two new devices, both of which offer a more beautiful and intuitive user experience that will soon also be available for the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01. With these new products and more Symbian devices and user enhancements coming in the near future, we are confident we can keep existing Nokia smart phone customers engaged, as well as attract new first-time and competitor smart phone users,” said Jo Harlow, head of Nokia’s Smart Devices business.
