Microsoft has already announced the Windows Phone Mango in India and today we saw Nokia finally revealing its first ever Windows Phone handsets in India. Nokia had tied up and had made the big announcement in February that they will be working with Microsoft to launch handset with the OS.
Today Nokia revealed two Windows Phone handsets under its ‘Lumia’ series of handsets, namely the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710.
The Lumia 800 is almost like the N9 boasting a unibody design and is made out of polycarbonate which feels great in the hand. The specs of the Lumia 800 include:
- 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 3.7in AMOLED Clearblack display with 480×800 resolution
- 16GB internal storage, no microSD card support
- WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1
- 8MP rear camera with Carl-Zeiss optics and 720p @30 fps video recording
- Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
- 1450 mAh battery
The more affordable Lumia 710 comes with changeable back covers and is said to be targeted at younger group. The specs of the Lumia 710 include:
- 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 3.7in AMOLED Clearblack display with 480×800 resolution
- 8GB internal storage, no microSD card support
- WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1
- 5MP rear camera with Carl-Zeiss optics and 720p @30 fps video recording
- 1300 mAh battery
- Changable back covers
The prices of the handsets have not been revealed as of yet, but the handsets will launch in December. Mr. Shivkumar, MD of Nokia India did point out the global prices of the handsets so we can expect them the Lumia 800 to be around $500 and the Lumia 710 to be around $380, but we are just speculating and these are not actual prices.
