HMD Global rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Nokia 8 back in November last year. And, late last month, it rolled out the Android 8.1 Oreo beta update for this 2017 flagship smartphone. Well now, after around three weeks, HMD Global has finally started rolling out the stable build of Android 8.1 Oreo for Nokia 8.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update that’s being rolled out to Nokia 8 carries build number V4.84A, and, weighs over 1.5 GB in size, hence, it’s advisable to download the update over a Wi-Fi connection. In fact, you can download the update over a Wi-Fi connection only.
That said, this Android 8.1 Oreo update comes along with battery saving navigation buttons, revamped power menu, new setting menu, Bluetooth battery percentage indicator, and, Google’s February security patch for Android.
Well, while the Nokia 8 is now receiving the 8.1 Oreo update, the Nokia 3 is yet to receive the 8.0 Oreo update. However, the company already rolled out the Oreo update for Nokia 5 and 6 last month. Having said that, HMD Global deserves a pat on back for rolling out Oreo updates for its smartphones faster than some other “tech giants”.
