We’ve been observing quite some speculation regarding the upcoming Nexus tablet. A similar such rumour hits that the tablet might be powered by an Intel processor.
According to sources, the new Nexus tablet, which is supposedly an 8 inch device, could be powered by a new mobile processor from Intel. Specifically, the processor would be a 64 bit quad core Atom Moorefield chip clocked at 2.3 GHz. The processor is also said to have an enhanced GPU and support for faster memory operations.
The Moorefield processor also supports Intel’s LTE solution, which allows for LTE-Advanced connectivity. Also if this chip is actually used, we might see the PowerVR G6430 GPU, which is apparently 20 times faster and five times more efficient. This rumour could highly be possible given Intel’s partnership with Asus, which is Google’s manufacturer for nexus tablets.
