Last year, Xiaomi stepped in the ultralight laptop market with a very appealing proposition. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air. It was a really well-crafted piece of machinery. Like always, Xiaomi also provided great value for the price. It has been almost a year since, and we have been waiting impatiently to see an upgrade to that model. But not a lot has been heard. Now, we have signs of a refreshed 13.3-inch model, which might be launched soon. We haven’t heard anything about the 12.5-inch model right now.
The new model listed on Jingdong Mall (JD.com) is a lot similar to the old models in terms of design and build-quality. Although the touchpad design has changed and a pill-shaped button is seen on the top right corner. It might be a fingerprint scanner. Mostly, the differences are all inside the chassis.
The upgraded ultrabook is seen rocking a 7th gen Core i5-7200U chip clocked at 3.1 GHz and we can also see the upgraded GeForce MX150 GPU. You will not find the RAM upgraded as it is still 8 GB. The storage choices are 128 GB or 256 GB. There is a 4-cell battery inside with USB Type-C fast charging, capable of going 50% in 30 minutes. For connectivity, you get Bluetooth 4.0, 2 Type A USB 3.0 ports, and a full-sized HDMI port. The device is 1.3kg in weight as per the listed spec sheet.
Regarding availability of the new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3, nothing is set in stone. But it is expected to arrive on June 12. The price of the 128 GB model should be CNY 4999 ($735) and CNY 5499 ($809) for the 256 GB version.
