While recently there has been a lot of talk about 64 bit processors, a new Snapdragon processor has been spotted on the benchmark app, leading to rumours about a faster processor from the company.
According to a listing spotted on the AnTuTu synthetic benchmark app, a mysterious new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with codename APQ8084 has been spotted. The device can attain speed of up to 2.5 GHz which is even higher than the 2.3 GHz of the powerful Snapdragon 800. The chip uses a quad core architecture but it hasn’t been mentioned whether it would use the Krait 400 core.
Interestingly the Snapdragon APQ8084 has the Adreno 420 GPU touching 500 MHz and also would have support for DirectX11 and WebGL2.0 graphical standards. While the company has claimed that it would look into 64 bit processors in future, it is not clear whether this would have a 64 bit architecture but we would expect 32 bit only.
