Until now we saw ASUS brand all its tablets with the Eee Pad branding but not anymore. ASUS had introduced its Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700T at the CES but has now renamed it as ASUS Transformer Prime Infinity. The Transformer Prime Infinity will have a 10.1 inch Super IPS+ display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. It has an 8MP camera with HD recording capability at 1080p and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera for video calls. The Wi-Fi only version will run on a 1.6 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor which is a little more than the 1.4 GHz processor on the original Transformer Prime.
But then the 3G/4G version of the Infinity will run on a Snapdragon S4 processor and not on the Tegra 3. Then Infinity is also a little thicker than the original Prime but there is no change in the weight or dimensions of the Prime Infinity. The Pad Infinity will also be available with a docking station just like the other ASUS tablets. This docking station will have a battery of 22Whr and will weigh 537 grams.
It will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Pad Infinity will be up for grabs in two colours which are: Amethyst Grey and Champagne Gold. Going by the pricing, expect the Pad Infinity to start form $599 – $799 depending on the version and memory capacity. No news on the availability yet.
