With the increasing demand for internet connectivity on the move, MTS is all set to provide Wi-Fi access on the Rapid MetroRail.
Sistema Shyam Teleservices, which operates in India as MTS, has announced their partnership with Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon Ltd to provide travellers free Wi-Fi services on all the trains running on the 5.1 km station corridor. The travellers can connect to the free Wi-Fi at four stations which include Sikanderpur, IndusInd Bank Cyber City, Phase 2 and Micromax Moulsari Avenue.
MTS has already set up five kiosks at the Rapid Metro stations where commuters can procure Wi-Fi coupons. The service is expected to remain free for the first six months. MTS is expected to provide similar services in public places in other cities as well.
Speaking about the partnership, Dmitry Shukov, CEO, MTS India, said, “This one of its kind service will enable commuters to access fast and consistent data speeds of up to 9.8 Mbps on MTS’ 3G plus network. With most of the daily commuters using smartphones and tablets, people will experience fast and consistent data speeds for free.”
