Motorola unveiled the Moto Z2 Play earlier this month. The Moto Z2 Play is successor to last year’s Moto Z Play, however, the company hasn’t unveiled the Moto Z2 yet which would be the successor to its last year’s Moto Z flagship. Well, having said that, Motorola might just unveil the Moto Z2 on June 27.
Motorola has started sending out invites to the media for its press event scheduled on June 27 at 7 pm. The invite only says “Motorola is back” and doesn’t directly reveal anything about the product that would be announced. However, the invite also shows a woman holding a Motorola smartphone, and, if you take a closer, you will notice that smartphone has a dual camera setup at its back along with a protruding camera module. The design language is also similar to the Moto Z2 Play.
Well, this smartphone might just be the Moto Z2, and, if it’s indeed the Moto Z2, then it’s needless to say that the smartphone that will be unveiled on June 27 by Motorola will be the Moto Z2.
Besides, we have also seen some leaked press renders in the past which have showed the dual camera setup at the back. Moreover, the Moto Z2 had also popped up on Geekbench last week along with some of its specifications. According to that Geekbench listing, the Moto Z2 would come with Snapdragon 835 SoC under the hood along with 4 GB RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Having said all that, there are chances that Motorola might unveil the Moto Z2 Force on June 27 instead of Moto Z2, or, maybe we can expect both the smartphones to go official on that day. We will have to wait for more information from Motorola.
