Back in September last year, soon after Google announced Android 8.0 Oreo, Motorola shared a list of its smartphones that would receive this Oreo update. One of those smartphones was the Moto Z which was announced way back in 2016, and now, after exactly seven months from Oreo’s release, the Moto Z is finally receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
This Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Moto Z carries version number OPL27.76-51 and weighs 1.37 GB in size. And, as this is an Oreo update, it brings along features like Picture-in-Picture Mode, Notification Snoozing, Autofill framework, and more to the phone.
Besides, this Oreo update also bumps up the Android security patch on the Moto Z to March 1, 2018 which is the latest Android security patch level available right now.

Having said that, this Android 8.0 Oreo update is currently only rolling out to Moto Z users in Brazil, and, there’s no word on when exactly will this update be rolled out to the Moto Z units in other countries. If you have a Moto Z and don’t live in Brazil, all you can do right now is wait.

That said, if you are a Moto Z user living in Brazil, you should get the update on your smartphone in a week or two. But, you can also check for the update manually by heading over to the Settings > About Phone > System updates menu.
