Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is catching up fast. An official in sector regulator at TRAI said that the number of cell phone users who have opted for MNP has reached the 10 million mark in about four-and-a-half months since its launch.The Trai official also said that about 100,000 cellphone users were availing this facility. The official quoted above added that each day nearly 100,000 subscribers were putting in requests to use this service
Vodafone has recorded a net gain of 591,600 new customers followed by Idea Cellular (590,343) and Bharti Airtel (563,460). Reliance Communications has been the largest loser whose net loss of over 1 million customers. The company has lost customers in both CDMA and GSM networks.
