Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi announced MIUI 9 last year in July and then announced the Global MIUI 9 ROM in India later in November. Xiaomi has already rolled out the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM for several of its devices, however, there are certain Xiaomi smartphones that are yet to receive this update. Well, if you are one of those who own a compatible Xiaomi device and is waiting for the MIUI 9 update, your wait is over as the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM is now available for all compatible devices.
Manu Kumar Jain – Global VP of Xiaomi and MD of Xiaomi India – announced on Twitter that MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM is available for all eligible Xiaomi devices. He also said that the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM is available even for devices like the Mi 3 and Redmi 1S that were launched fours years back.

Like we already said, many Xiaomi devices have already received the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM update, but there are some devices that are yet to receive it. The MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM update is rolling out over-the-air and should reach your Xiaomi device (if eligible) in a week or two.

However, if you don’t get update notification on your smartphone, you can check for the update manually by heading over to the Updater app or to the Settings > About device > System update menu. Alternatively, you can also head over to this link to grab the Recovery ROM and flash it manually to the device. But, be sure to backup all your data before you proceed with flashing the ROM to your device.
