While Microsoft is working hard to expand the Lumia smartphone line-up, the company currently seems to be working on an affordable smartphone.
According to sources, Microsoft is working on a new Lumia smartphone bearing model number RM-1072. The source claims that this handset could be the low-cost alternative to the Lumia 830. The device apparently has a 5 inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The RM-1072 smartphone is also said to flaunt an 8.7 MP PureView camera on the back and a decent 0.9 MP front facing camera. If the source is to be believed, the handset would retail at just $275, which would definitely spice up the Windows Phone market. We can expect the device to be announced later this quarter.
