Last night, Microsoft took the centre stage and went on to announce the launch of the Windows 8 OS officially and with the launch of the revamped OS, the Redmond based tech giant also announced the availability of its first hardware in a decade – Microsoft Surface.
The Surface is a 10.6-inch tablet which runs on Windows RT OS and is now available for buyers in the US and Canada. Details on the Windows 8 Pro variant will be made available at a later stage.
Microsoft has invested all it has on the Surface and marketing it well. It has also priced the tablet competitively and the 32 GB version starts at $499 minus the touch cover bundle.
While the 64 GB version will arrive with a Touch Cover and is priced at $699. If you also choose to buy the Surface Type Cover individually, it will set you back $129.99.
Microsoft has also made available a lot of Surface accessories for purchase, including Touch Covers in five vibrant colors — black, white, magenta, cyan and red — priced at $119.99.
Customers also have the option to purchase a Type Cover in black for $129.99, which adds moving keys for a more traditional typing feel.
