Microsoft has just started sending out invites to the press for a “small” Surface event on May 20 in New York. Since, it’s said to be a rather small event, we expect the Surface mini to be finally unveiled.
The event invite says, “Join us for a small gathering”. Microsoft doesn’t give anything out but we are guessing the long rumored Surface mini will finally make an official appearance. The Surface mini has been circulating in the rumor mills ever since the first Surface tablet was announced and it might finally become a reality.
So, what do we know about the Surface mini? We know that the mini tablet will come with a 7-8 inch display and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The tablet is said to be coming with the Office suite pre-installed and it will be positioned as a note taking device by Microsoft. As the previous rumor suggested, the device might come with a stylus.
There are around two weeks to go for the Surface event, so we should know everything around the Surface mini soon enough. With Microsoft’s Nokia acquisition complete, we can also expect to know more on the future plans. As always, we’ll keep you posted.
