While the major part of the IFA 2014 has been only about smartphones and wearable announcements, Microsoft which is currently having its More Lumia event, on behalf of Lumia, has revealed the Lumia Denim software update.
Microsoft has announced the Lumia Denim firmware update for the Lumia devices. The update is said to add user experience improvements. The recently released Cortana voice assistant can now be activated by voice just by saying “Hey, Cortana!” (Too subtle?). Besides that Cortana will now track your movements and even recognize the geographic areas (for recommendation purposes)
The Lumia Denim update is said to add major improvement to the camera front. Apparently, with the update, the camera on supported Lumia devices would not only start faster but would also click individual photos quickly. Also users can shoot 4K video and take still images simultaneously. The update is would however be available only to the Lumia 930/Icon and the Lumia 1520 initially. While the update is expected to rollout in the Q4 2014, the alpha version is expected to be released in India and Canada first.
