Microsoft unveiled a couple of affordable devices at MWC 2015 in the form of the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL and as expected, they have arrived on the Indian shores today.
The Lumia 640 features the usual colorful design that has become the norm on Microsoft’s budget devices. The device packs in a 5-inch IPS LCD display of HD (1280x720p) resolution and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The affordable smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM for your multitasking needs.
The device features 8 GB of internal storage with microSD expansion up to 128 GB and Microsoft is also offering free 30 GB worth of OneDrive storage with the device. On the camera front, the Lumia 640 is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash along with a 1 MP front-facing camera. The device comes with support for Microsoft’s latest camera software, the Lumia Camera 5.
Lumia Denim with Windows Phone 8.1 run the show here and a 2400 mAh battery powers the device. The device also comes with the HERE suite of mapping apps. The connectivity is well covered as you would expect from a modern day smartphones with the likes of Dual SIM, 4G LTE in tow.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 will be available in various color options including glossy cyan, orange and white as well as matte black. The device will cost you Rs. 11,999 and it will be available exclusively on Flipkart stacting today. Microsoft is also offering cashback offers with Mobikwik and Ola.
