In the first ever press conference by Microsoft’s Mobile Division after acquiring Nokia exactly an year ago, Microsoft announced their new “Affordable Flagship” smartphone, Lumia 830. The new phone is update to the previous model Lumia 820 and is made compiling the best of both worlds of Lumia range, i.e., High-End Specification and Affordable price. The phone will come with the latest Lumia Denim update pre-installed and packs 10MP Pureview Camera along with ZEISS optics and LED flash. The Lumia 830 is the slimmest and lightest of all Lumia phones at just 8.5mm thin and 150 gram weight.

All in all, the specifications are quite good in the given price range. The phone is ideal for those who want a perfect camera phone and High-End Hardware without burning their pocket as the Lumia 830 is the cheapest offering in Lumia range having latest PureView camera and Imaging technology. Along with the Camera, the phone is also great in design and performing day to day activities as it is powered by Windows Phone 8.1 with personal digital assistant “Cortana”.
In the press event, Chris Weber, corporate vice president of Mobile Devices Sales at Microsoft attacked directly on Apple and Samsung challenging that they can’t bring a phone with such High-End specifications at an affordable price range. While that surely is a bold claim, but shows the confidence they have with their new products.
He also demoed a few interesting features of the new phone, though dominated by imaging and camera capabilities. The Lumia 830 would be available at 330 Euros (around INR 26,200) before taxes in Bright Green, Bright Orange, Stunning White and Dark Grey colors starting from this month.
