With Micromax striving hard to be the largest smartphone brand in India, the company soon plans to expand their market to Russia and Romania.
According to reports, Micromax, which has a staggering 22 percent share in the Indian smartphone market, would launch their device in Russia and Romania by the end of the year. The company is currently selling their devices in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri-Lanka, Maldives, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and Brazil, besides India.
The operations in Russia are expected to start from December and Micromax has already set up an office in Russia with initial employees. The company has also tied up with Yandex, Russia’s largest search engine for applications and plans on launching customized devices for the Russian market. The company has also roped in Hugh Jackman as their brand ambassador to help improve global outreach.
