Seeing the growing demand for 4G VoLTE handsets ever since the entry of Reliance Jio, Micromax launched quite a few ultra-affordable 4G VoLTE smartphones. Now the company plans to launch 4G VoLTE feature phones.
According to reports from the Economic Times, Micromax is working on an entry level feature phone with 4G VoLTE support. The handset is expected to be priced below the Rs. 2500 price point. While there is still no official confirmation, the handset is expected to be unveiled later next month. Additionally, the company is said to be working on two ultra-affordable 4G VoLTE smartphones priced in the Rs. 3000 range.
Even though, Reliance Jio is also apparently working on a similar 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone, Micromax is expected to partner with the new-comer to offer free voice and data offers bundled with the handset. With the bundling of the freebies, the effective cost of the handset is expected to drop to almost zero, making it a good deal for customers.
While there are hardly any details available about the Micromax 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone, sources in the know suggest that the handset would have touch-and-type capabilities. The handset is primarily targeted towards customers who wish to continue with feature phone but intend to access services that may require internet access.
