Micromax had been teasing its upcoming smartphone dubbed Canvas Knight for a few days now. Today, the Micromax Canvas Knight has been finally launched. It is the first smartphone from the Indian maker to come with an Octa-Core processor.
Micromax Canvas Knight features an aluminium unibody design which to me seems a lot like the iPhones. Talking about the specs, the Canvas Knight features a 5-inch SHARP IPS FullHD (1920×1280) display making up for a pixel density of 443ppi. It is powered by MediaTek’s Tru Octa-Core MT6592T processor clocked at 2GHz. The tru there suggests all eight cores will be active. There’s 2GB RAM for your multitasking needs.
The device will come with 32GB of internal storage and there’s no microSD slot. The cameras on the device is surely interesting. There’s a 16MP rear camera with a LED flash. The camera features OmniVision CameraChip sensor and M8 Largan Lens. An 8MP camera graces the front, yes 8MP, you read that right.
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is loaded on the device which is unfortunate considering, the world has already moved onto Android 4.4 KitKat. A 2350 mAh non-removable battery makes sure the device is alive. On the connectivity front, the device is well covered. There are a number of apps and games preloaded on the device such as BBM, HIke, Spuul, Opera Mini, GetIt, Truecaller, Kingsoft Office Suite, Opera Mini, RealSteel WRB, Where’s My Perry and Where’s My Water. There are also Micromax apps such as M!Security, M!Live and M!Vault.
Micromax Canvas Knight will be available in three different color variants: Black, Black & Gold and White & Gold. The device has been priced at Rs. 19,999 and has gone on sale at Micromax’ website.
