Micromax has just announced a brand new budget smartphone dubbed Canvas Hue, which features some interesting specs at a budget price.
The Micromax Canvas Hue features a 5-inch HD (1280x720p) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and it’s powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM. There’s 8 GB internal storage with microSD expansion up to 32 GB.
On the camera front, there’s an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front-facing camera. The handset runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Micromax says the device will receive an upgrade to Andrioid 5.0 Lollipop. The device comes with apps like M! Live, Swiftkey, Amazon, Hike, Dr. Safety, Opera, MAd, Truecaller, Saavn, Cleanmaster, some trending apps and some games.
The connectivity front is well covered with 3G support, WiFi and Bluetooth. The Canvas Hue comes with a 3000 mAh battery and according to the company, the smartphone comes with a power saving mode, which should make sure the battery runs for a month.
The Micromax Canvas Hue will go on sale at online and retail stores around India starting January 16 at a price of Rs. 10,999. At this price point, the device will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and it’s very own Yu Yureka. Micromax is touting the battery of the Canvas Hue, so it’s interesting to note that the Gionee Marathon M3 features a much bigger 5000 mAh battery and is priced just a Rs. 1000 more.
