While we just saw Lava’s entry-level Android KitKat offering listed online, Micromax apparently seems to be working on its own KitKat handset but with more powerful specs.
According to sources, Micromax is working on the Micromax Canvas A290, which is apparently the company’s upcoming budget smartphone. Interestingly, the handset is said to be powered by an octa core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, which we presume is a MediaTek chip. Also expected is a 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage with support for expandable memory.
The Micromax Canvas A290 is said to be equipped with a rear facing 8 MP camera and a front facing 5 MP camera. The phone runs on the latest Android KitKat version with a 2010 mAh battery. The handset is expected to be officially announced next month within the affordable price range of Rs. 15000.
