While we have been hearing rumours about Micromax partnering with CyanogenMod for its smartphone, turns out it is the company’s upcoming flagship.
According to sources, Micromax, which is India’s leading smartphone brand, is working on the flagship Canvas 5 and is apparently planning to run it on CyanogenMod. Not just that but the handset is said to pack in some blazing hardware, including a MediaTek octa core processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory.
The Canvas 5 is said to flaunt a 5 inch display with full HD resolution. Interestingly, an 18 MP rear facing camera and a front facing 5 MP camera is expected. The handset is expected to be priced in the Rs. 22000 and is expected to be launched later this year. Would a CyanogenMod powered handset excite the Indian market?
