Last year in December, Indian smartphone brand Micromax launched the Micromax Bharat 5 smartphone in India that shipped with a massive 5000 mAh battery. And, later this year in January, the company launched the Micromax Bharat 5 Plus which too had 5000 mAh battery underneath. Now today, Micromax has launched the Micromax Bharat 5 Pro in India which is yet another smartphone from Micromax with a 5000 mAh battery.
With a battery this big, Micromax says that you get a standby time of 21 days and battery backup of more than two days on the Bharat 5 Pro. Moreover, you can also use this smartphone as a power bank as it can be used to charge other phones through reverse charging feature.
That said, design-wise, the Micromax Bharat 5 Pro looks similar to the Bharat 5 and Bharat 5 Plus. The Micromax Bharat 5 Pro features a 5.2-inch IPS display having 1280 x 720 pixels. Above the display is a 5 MP camera that also has Face Unlock feature which uses face recognition to unlock the smartphone.
For regular photos, there’s a 13 MP snapper at the back that’s accompanied by LED flash. However, from a distance, it can be mistaken as a dual camera setup.
Speaking about the innards, the Micromax Bharat 5 Pro is powered by an unknown MediaTek processor which is clocked at 1.3 GHz and is mated to 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone boots up to Android Nougat and has 32 GB of internal storage with the option to expand the storage via microSD card.
Commenting on the launch of Bharat 5 Pro, Mr. Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax Informatics, said “Smartphones have become a centre of young consumers’ lives to an extent that their life comes to a standstill if their phone is not with them or they give up on them. Data affordability, connectivity and ease of using technology are the three most important parameters for a seamless connected experience. Therefore, majority of our consumers have always demanded a smartphone which helps them get this experience, therefore a smartphone with a great battery life becomes imperative.“
“Usually, smartphones with great battery life either come at a higher price point or do not have great specs to offer at an affordable price point. Hence, we at Micromax have always been at the forefront of coming up with phones with extensive battery life and compelling product features, not too long ago we were the first to give our consumers a 30 days battery phone. Our new addition to the successful Bharat range- the Bharat 5 Pro Plus will surely offer a complete package to the consumers at a very affordable price. We are very confident that the new phones will help us move towards our Digital India dream and reignite the smartphone market in the sub 10K category” Mr. Pal further added.
