The Micromax A110 Canvas 2 has seen some great success in the Indian market and inspired by this, Micromax has today added another smartphone to its Canvas series dubbed as the Micromax A116 Canvas HD which arrive with a 720p display and is powered by a quad-core processor.
The Micromax A116 Canvas HD has been launched with a large 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.
The A116 Canvas HD 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor which is a first from the Indian manufacturer which is coupled with a 1 GB RAM while the memory storage can be expanded to up to 32 GB using a microSD card. There is an 8 MP camera on the rear of the Canvas HD while a VGA front facing camera has been included.
Connectivity options include the usual Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, 3.5mm headphone jack. And all of this will be powered by a 2100 mAh battery. Going by the pricing, Micromax plans to sell the smartphone under Rs.15,000 and will make the device available in the market in the first week of February.
