The release of Android N is now closer with Google all set to reveal the official name of Android N in the next few weeks. While the release of Android N is awaited, we are having Android Marshmallow as the latest version of Android. And, Marshmallow’s share in Android Distribution has also increased.
Android Marshmallow had a share of 7.5% in Android Distribution last month which has now increased to 10.1%. Android Marshmallow stood with 1.2% share in Android Distribution back in February which increased to 2.3% in March and then 4.6% in April.
Going by the latest numbers, Android Lollipop is still leading the chart with a share of 35.4% which is followed by Android KitKat with 31.6%, Android JellyBean with 18.9%, Android Marshmallow with 10.1%, Android Gingerbread with 2.0%, Android Ice Cream Sandwich with 1.9% and lastly Android Froyo with 0.1%.
This share of 10.1% for Android Marshmallow is still low. There are manufacturers who are still shipping their budget smartphones with Android Lollipop. Even flagship devices like LeEco Le Max are still running on Android Lollipop instead of Android Marshmallow.
