After launching the iBall Andi Uddaan, which is touted to be India’s First Safety Phone for women, the company has now partnered with MapMyIndia to power its SOS feature.
MapmyIndia has announced a strategic tie-up with iBall to power the one-touch SOS feature in the iBall Andi Uddaan, with its people exclusive safety app, Locate. The partnership would enable the device users to get access to the comprehensive map data from MapmyIndia. The Locate app, which is deeply integrated in the phone, would ensure that the emergency message would reach the designated person instantly with details about how to reach the incident spot.
The phone has pre-defined contact details of up to five people entered by the user, who would get the MapmyIndia maps links when alarm is triggered. The app also offers real time tracking of the person. The app can be used to geo-fence a particular area, breaching which would automatically alert the emergency contacts.
Speaking about the added feature, Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia, said, “These days security especially women safety in India has been a big cause of concern. For the steady growth of India as superpower, women have and are playing a pivotal role. It is therefore our responsibility to ensure that they along with every Indian citizen feel safe. This initiative is a small but significant step toward harnessing the potential of GPS navigation technology to secure India’s citizens. I am happy to see that iBall, a leading name in mobile phones has realized this. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
