LG it seems has finally got its smartphone act together. Just a week after showing off the Optimus L3 handset at MWC in Barcelona. The Optimus L3 is the first in the L-series from LG.
Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications was quoted as saying – “We’ve always believed in the need to offer a variety of smartphone options and many people simply don’t want to pay for a lot of extra bells and whistles. We think the Optimus L3 offers all of basic smartphone-related benefits but in a more premium package that hasn’t been seen before on a smartphone in this category.”
It comes with a square form factor. The Optimus L3 from the looks of it might just be a mid range handset. It comes with just an 800 MHz dual-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 3.2-inch QVGA. There is also a 3-megapixel camera and a 1500 mAh battery. But, the most surprising part is that it doesn’t come with Ice Cream Sandwich OS, it just has the Android 2.3 – Gingerbread OS on-board.
After the European launch, The L3 is expected to release in Russian and Asian markets and other markets soon after.
