Modular smartphone LG G5 which was first unveiled in February this year during the MWC 2016 has been launched in India today at an event in New Delhi. The G5 has been priced at ₹52,990 in India.
The G5 was available for pre-booking on Flipkart from May 21, 2016 to May 30, 2016. Whoever pre-booked the G5 from Flipkart will also get the LG Cam Plus for free. Customers just need to attach the invoice copy along with user details on the LG portal to redeem the offer.
Talking about specs, the G5 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC which is coupled with 4 GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0. Marshmallow out of the box and packs a 2800 mAh battery which is user removable.
The G5 comes with 32 GB internal storage whereas the external storage can be expanded all the way up to 2 Terabytes. The device boasts off a 5.3-inch Quad-HD In-Cell display and has support for Hybrid Dual SIM with Smart Forward. Talking about cameras, there are two camera at the back, a 16 MP standard camera and an 8 MP wide-angle camera. And to take selfies and make video calls, there’s an 8 MP standard camera at the front.
The G5 flaunts an all metal body and sports a fingerprint scanner at the back below the camera. Being a modular smartphone, users can take advantage of camera, audio and battery modules and swap them with the existing ones to enhance the performance.
