After being in the rumors since very long and getting extensively leaked, the LG G3 is finally here. LG has just made their latest flagship official and as we expected, the device is made to impress.
LG says the G3 has been designed under the Simple is the New Smart concept and that the company has learned from the consumers and developed the device. Well, let’s check out for ourselves. Shall we?
The LG G3 features a polycarbonate body with a metal matte finish on top. It comes with the same rear mounted buttons, as the LG G2 and this time, the design has been quite refined. The LG flagship measures in at 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm and weighs 150 grams. LG has managed to keep the device pretty compact for a 5.5-inch display smartphone and that’s because of the thin bezels. LG G3 boasts a screen ratio of 76.4%, all thanks to the crazy thin bezels, which also make sure the device looks amazing.
The LG G3 comes with a pixel dense 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560x1440p) IPS LCD display, which makes up for a massive 538 pixels per inch. The numbers surely make us drool and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves. The beast is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. There are two storage options, the 16 GB version gets you 2 GB RAM and the 32 GB version gets you a healthy 3 gigs of RAM. There’s also a microSD slot supporting up to 128 GB microSD cards.
On the camera front, the G3 features a 13 MP OIS+ camera with dual LED flash. There’s a first of its kind laser sensor as well, which measures the distance from an object while capturing a picture and speeds up autofocus. The camera also packs phase detection autofocus, which brings ultra fast 276 ms focusing. There’s a 2.1 MP front facing camera with larger image sensor and larger aperture to attain more light in an image.
The flagship comes with a built-in 1W speaker with Boost AM for all your music and video needs. Android 4.4.2 KitKat is on-board with a brand new overhauled UI. The new interface is flatter with minimalistic design and there are lot of new features in tow. There’s a new Smart Keyboard, which LG says reduces errors by 75% and is very much customizable. Then there’s Smart Notice, which is much like Google Now and brings you contextual notifications. Smart Security features the much loved Knock Code, Kill Switch and Content Lock.
There’s a 3000 mAh battery on the LG G3, which LG says has been optimised to give you great performance. Well, we’ll have to see for ourselves how well that battery performs under the strain of so many pixels. The connectivity is well covered, as you would expect from a flagship. There’s 4G LTE, HSPA+ 21 Mbps (3G), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X), NFC, SlimPort, A-GPS/Glonass and USB 2.0.
The LG G3 will come in cool colors including Metallic Black, Silk White,Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red.
