September was a very impressive month for the mobile industry in India. As many as three high end flagship devices entered the Indian shores in this month, which include the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the Sony Xperia Z1 and the 41 MP camera phone Nokia Lumia 1020. To end the month on a high note, LG has launched its first premium flagship device, the LG G2 in India.
The LG G2, which was announced in early August, has been officially released in India today. The device, which is the first smartphone under LG’s new “G” Series for premium devices, has a massive design refresh with super thin side bezels. The power button and volume rocker of the device are put at the back of the device thus keeping the sides plain and smooth. The rear key is the only physical key on the device.
The LG G2 has a 5.2 inch full HD display, which the company claims is the largest an average person can comfortably hold. The device is powered by the powerful 2.26 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The processor also supports LTE-A, thus assuring high-speed internet access.
The LG G2 has a huge 13 MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) technology and features like Super Resolution and Multi-point AF, besides a front facing 2.1 MP camera. While the smartphone would run on the Android v4.2.2, it has a layer of LG UI enhancements.
