After teasers taunting the Moto 360, LG has finally officially announced the LG G Watch R which is the company’s first smart watch with a circular display.
LG has announced the launch of the LG G Watch R, which is the company’s latest Android Wear smart watch with a round display. The watch has a 1.3 inch Plastic OLED display with resolution of 320 x 320. The display is said to utilize 100 percent of the surface area thus reducing any unused surface space.
The LG G Watch R has a stainless steel frame with an interchangeable 22mm calf skin leather strap. The watch is powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor along with a 512 MB RAM. The watch also has dust and water proof resistance and a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor which can be used to measure heartbeats. The watch is equipped with a 410 mAh battery.
Speaking about the LG G Watch R, Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO, LG Mobile, said, “What we’ve noticed in the year of the wearable is that this is a category that can’t be compared to smartphones and tablets.
