If you own an LG G2 or one of the Lumia smartphones, you know of the ‘double tap on the screen to wake the device’ feature which LG likes to call ‘Knock On’ and now LG is bringing this nice feature to its L Series II smartphones.
In a Lumia smartphone, you can wake up the device by a double tap on the display while LG goes one-step further and lets you lock the device by double tapping on the active display. LG brought the ‘Knock On’ feature with the G2 because of the rear lock button in the device which is tad inconvenient. Now, the feature is available for all the L Series II smartphones, LG L1 II, L3 II, L4 II, L5 II and L7 II.
“Knock-ON is a distinct part of LG’s updated UX, and a great example of a blend between state-of-the-art technology and consumer-centric insights”, said Mr. Amit Gujral, Marketing head, LG India. “Knock-ON has been very well received ever since we first introduced it to the LG G2. We listened and learned from consumers, and proactively adapted this unique feature to all L-series II phones.”
We recently reported that LG might bring the ‘Knock On’ feature to all its smartphones so it is great that LG has started by bringing the feature to its mid-range and entry-level smartphones.
The feature will come to the aforementioned devices through a software update and the roll out was slated to start this month so if you have one of the L Series II smartphones, you might want to check for available software updates.
