We reported last month that Lenovo is planning to bring the KitKat update to the Vibe Z and X by May end but it’s only now that the rollout has started. Lenovo has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Vibe Z.
The update is live in Malaysia over-the-air (OTA). Lenovo has brought along its own updates along with Android 4.4.2. The update weighs in at a hefty 1.2 GB, which makes us believe that Lenovo has brought in a lot of new features, updates to its interface and various optimizations.
Along with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat features, the KitKat update for Vibe Z brings improved 4K video playback, better processing for enhanced UI transitions and multisensory user experience, improved multi-window mode, updated notification access, wireless printing, updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and more.
The update should roll out gradually to all regions. You will be notified of the update when it’s live in your area or you can keep checking in the settings for the update. We will suggest you to download the update via a WiFi network, considering the massive size. Do tell us, if you receive the update on your Vibe Z. We don’t yet as to when Lenovo plans on updating the Vibe X but we’ll surely keep you posted.
