A couple of days before the official unveil of the Windows 8.1 OS, Lenovo has released the refreshed version of its Miix tablet – the Miix 2 which comes with the much awaited operating system. The Lenovo Miix 2 sports an 8-inch screen with a 1200 x 800p resolution. Along with that it comes with features such as an Intel Bay Trail T quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a thin, lightweight form factor at 8.35mm and 350g.
“Many users want the convenience of a smaller screen tablet, but do not want to lose the performance and convenience of a powerful, quad core Windows 8.1 device. With the Lenovo Miix 2 8-inch, users can take advantage of a small, light form factor without sacrificing performance. The Lenovo Miix 2 8-inch is a great example of how thoughtful design can deliver the best of both worlds.”, commented Mr. Bai Peng, VP and GM, notebook business unit, Lenovo Business Group.
The star of the device is definitely the Windows 8.1 OS which comes with features such as IE 11, touch optimization and refreshed start button. It will also come with MS Office Home and Student versions pre-installed. Lenovo also offers you a $20 stylus among accessories.
The tablet will hit the shelves later this month with a $299 price tag which sounds good.
