HTC has been working hard to bring Android updates quickly to most of its devices. We’ve been quite impressed the way it has brought timely updates to its device recently. The company has even confirmed to bring Android L to the One M8 and M7 within 90 days of its release. Now, a roadmap has leaked giving us an insight into HTC’s future Android update plans.
HTC is planning to skip Android 4.4.3 and directly bring Android 4.4.4 along with some Sense enhancements to several of its devices. The roadmaps suggests the One M8 and M7 should receive the update in July/August, while M8 Dual SIM, One E8 and One mini 2 should get it in August/September.
Talking about Android L, all the 2013 and 2014 HTC devices are under evaluation to get the update. Google hasn’t revealed the hardware requirements for Android L, thus HTC hasn’t confirmed the update for all of its devices. Either ways, the One X range won’t be getting any more updates. It is good to see HTC working on updates quick and fast and we hope, all 2013 and 2014 HTC devices make it to Android L.
