Last week, Google said that we should be expecting quite a few Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones to be unveiled at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech show in Barcelona, Spain. Well now, Indian phone brand Lava too has joined this group with the announcement of Lava Z50.
The Lava Z50 is an Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone, and, it’s the first smartphone from Lava that’s a part of this Android Go program. For those unaware, Android Oreo (Go Edition) is a toned down, lightweight version of Android which is built especially for entry-level smartphones with low-end specifications.
Well, as the Lava Z50 runs Android Oreo (Go Edition), it comes with a special suite of Google apps like Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go and Files Go that take up lesser storage and RAM space on the smartphone.

That said, speaking about the hardware, the Lava Z50 Android Oreo (Go Edition) features a 4.5-inch display and is powered by MediaTek’s MT6737m processor that’s paired with 1 GB RAM. The smartphone has 8 GB of internal storage and sports a 5 MP camera both on the back and front. Both these cameras can take photos with Bokeh Effect that help the subject/object stand out from the background.
